It has been confirmed that Joaquin Phoenix will star in the upcoming feature film titled Disappointment Blvd. directed by Ari Aster.

The film will reportedly, as per its arthouse production company A24’s statement, provide: “an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.” A24’s previous works with Aster include his acclaimed directorial debut, Hereditary, as well as the distribution of his folk horror follow-up, 2019’s Midsommar.

Disappointment Blvd is likely to start shooting ahead of Ridley Scott’s Kitbag, which casts Phoenix as the French emperor and military leader Napoleon Bonaparte, according to Deadline. The biopic is due to start production in 2022, following Scott’s Gucci murder film, titled… Gucci.
